For some reason, I just love taking photos of a jetty. This is in Nightcliff, NT. It was a smoking hot day and I wanted to jump in that water so bad, but was advised against it because there is crocodiles! It would have been so nice though! Again, so glad I had my Phase One for this. So humid and the camera just works amazing in all conditions. Taken on @[184811514906561:274:Phase One] P45+ #proimaging #australia

This action-packed image is captured by Phase One Photographer of December; Alpine-Photography by Kamil Tamiola . We asked him how he got started as a professional photographer. See answer below

Answer from Kamil/

"I have an extensive background in scientific imaging, with a big interest in spectroscopy, the science of light. Add to it a passion for outdoors, and an endless love for mountains, and you should arrive at my current mindset. However, starting in this business was not as romantic as one would like. The very first micro-assignemnts were of a purely editorial nature, with many photographs shot on completely speculative basis and pitched directly at my prospective clients. Social media, most notably Facebook, were paramount in landing many big clients. Eventually, I started getting an interest from outdoor industry brands, and slowly transiting towards high-tech photo and video brands interested in fresh outdoor visuals, and interesting stories behind them."

Benjamin Edelstein Photography is one of the many top photographers in our gallery: http://bit.ly/11vdqJL

We had a talk with Benjamin.

Phase One Question /

As a landscape photographer, what goes into preparing for a journey?

Benjamin's answer /

There's constant preparation and planning that goes on behind the scenes of every journey. It starts with having scouted a region that I would like to photograph and what time of the year I think would lend itself to capturing it at its peak. A tentative itinerary is set with flexibility, as Mother Nature sometimes has its own plans. My Phase One gear is checked, rechecked and checked again. I make sure the sensor is clean, the body is clean and the lenses are clean. I also ensure that I have all of the essentials packed, which includes: plenty of spare batteries, filters, shutter release, memory cards, my trusty tripod, laptop and backup hard drives.
