We asked Michael Woloszynowicz [Vibrant Shot Photography] how he get his images stand out - such as this one from a series shot for Beauty & Wellness Magazine?
Don't forget you can impress Michael, as he is one of the judges on the Phase One Photo Contest: http://ift.tt/11Ipwih
Michael's answer to our question /
"I always want my images to have depth so I strive to bring that out as much as possible. Both depth in the subject matter and depth from a visual standpoint. For the subject it’s really down to pulling out the best expression you can and that starts with a connection to them. It’s important to budget time before the shoot to get to know the subject, make them feel comfortable and ensure that they trust you to capture them in the best way possible. From a visual standpoint it boils down to lighting and post processing. I never light my subjects with direct sources like ring-flashes because I want to create contrast and mood. Based on the characteristics of the subject and ambient light conditions, I’ll adjust the degree of contrast through light position and modifier choice to achieve that mood while still remaining flattering to their face shape, skin type. While I always try to stay true to my look and style, I rarely light my subjects in the same way twice. I like to experiment with variations that can keep my work feeling fresh and interesting."

Sony A7000 and A9 to be announced as next?
Sony rumors are growing lately and there seems to be two new E-mount cameras on the pipeline:
Sony A7000:
APS-C E-mount camera with 5 axis stabilization and priced above the A6000 but still way less than $1,000 with kit lens. Announcement at CP+ in February?
Sony A9:
Placed above the current A7 series. Full Frame sensor with almost 50 megapixel resolution (Bayer sensor). 4D tracking af and 5 axis included. Coming early or mid 2015.
Both sound like very attractive packages. Me personally think the A7000 coul be the best bet for the buck here!

These images are randomly selected contestants of the Phase One Photo Contest. This album and its images has nothing to do with the selection of the finalists and later winner! These images are just some of the many hundreds of images we have received and it is a pleasure to see the variety of motives, cameras and thoughts behind them. http://ift.tt/11Ipwih #proimaging #PhaseOne #photocontest from Phase One's Facebook Wall
